A.06 — Core Values

Seven principles, non-negotiable.

The values below are visible in every artifact we ship. They are how we decide what to publish, what to refuse, and what to revise.

I

Integrity

We say what is true, including the parts that cost us.

II

Compassion

Warmth is the starting posture; honesty is the standard.

III

Wisdom

Thirty years of practice is held lightly, but it is held.

IV

Curiosity

We treat the reader's life as a question worth taking seriously.

V

Responsibility

What we publish has to survive being assigned in a graduate seminar.

VI

Respect

Reader data is reader data. Attention is sacred. Time is finite.

VII

Authenticity

No filler. No ghostwritten voice. No AI dressed as authorship.

These principles are operationalized in the Ethics & Responsibility policy, in the editorial philosophy, and in how we handle every detail of the reader experience — from the typography of a journal to the wording of a refund.
